About the Author

My name is Emillye. Yes, that is the way it is spelled.

That kid in the picture- that’s my munchkin, circa 2009.

I needed a hobby as well as a creative outlet.

Wine On The Nightstand was born.

If you are stopping by in hopes to find a new innovative blog that will blow your socks off, I can assure you, you’ve come to the wrong place. Nothing about my blog will be innovative or probably all that interesting. I’m almost positive it will take on the stereotype of your typical “Mom-blog.” There is a hundred million of them out there, and now, a hundred and one million.

Mom-blog: Noun. A blog authored by a mother of one or more children, who chooses to spend a portion of her free-time (HA!) writing about: the trials and tribulations of being a full-time Mom, making homemade or semi-homemade recipes, tackling home projects (big and small), and trying to balance all other aspects of life -being a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a full-time employee, the family accountant, the cheafeur, the maid, the nurse, the home decorator, etc., etc., etc.

Obviously, that is my own personal definition.  If you were to google ‘Mom Blog’ right now, I really don’t know what it would say, or if it would say anything at all. That’s just how I roll.

Wine will probably be mentioned more than a few times on this blog. After all, a rough day at the office, followed by a rough night at the house, and then a few glasses of red-red wiiiiine gave me the inspiration for the title of this new venture, so I owe it credit where credit is due.

Enjoy it! Laugh with me, laugh at me.  Cry with me, cry for me. Try a new recipe of mine, or just use it to inspire you to come up with your own variation. Whether you like my blog, or find it annoying, I am planning to continue to post. So come back if you’d like – the only thing guaranteed is a new post when I have the time to write one. What’s not guaranteed is the quality of the content.

Peace Out Homie!
